Leesh came through New Haven for a quick visit.

Sunday04.05.2009

At 2:30 in the morning, preparing for that day's sermon.

Resolution for the next year: prepare for sermons weeks, rather than
hours, in advance.

Wednesday04.08.2009

On April 8th, I attended my first Yale Master's Tea, in JE.

The guest of honor: Jason Alexander, better known as George from
Seinfeld.

Wale eat your heart out.

After prayer that night, I disembarked from the bus home
to find a package from Gilt Groupe awaiting me.

With my last pair of black-on-black shoes rapidly
wearing out, I had ordered (70% off) a new pair of

Saturday04.11.2009

On an otherwise eventful day, I got a text message at
~10 AM from Ryan Tarpine, saying vaguely that he was
"around".

Image048
And so he was;

Image049
and his wife, too.

They were in town for two conferences that,
coincidentally, happened to be not only a short walk
down the street from me, but additionally on two
floors of the same building.

One was a Muslim conference; the other, a Malaysian
Students' gathering, that I shortly discovered was put
together by my friend Joyce.

Easter in New Haven.

Stephen slept over at my house; after 3 hours of sleep,
we made the trek over.

Crazy tree.

Easter Sunday, by tradition, also serves as a Baptism service for our
congregation. By more recent tradition, in the evening after we re-
group on campus, our community and friends join together for a
celebration of the recently baptised.

At home for a week, on business, I came across the relics of a beloved
past in my old room.

Waiting for a breakfast meeting, this whip caught my eye.
Joint is poppin.

Spring coming to Delaware.

During my last day in Delaware, Brett S. Weber and I went for a long
traipse around Newark.

Yup, looks about aesthetically right. Just needs a few
more crates.

Blackbird in the reeds.

After meandering about the reservoir for a few miles, we hopped into
my car and headed over to check out the house Brett and his sister
were thinking of buying.

Sunday04.19.2009

After a dinner at home with Dave Moak and my folks, I took a quick
nap and headed over to the local Russian Orthodox Church on
the recognition of some old friends.

My last night in town happened to coincide with the Orthodox Paschal
("Easter") service
, and Dan Peck extended an invitation for me to
observe and participate in their liturgy; beginning at 11:30 PM,
service lasted until around 3 AM.

Joint was pretty fly & worshipful.

Image015
And afterwards: breaking fast!

Image016
Elizabeth was pretty excited to get down on that food.
