[Part 3 of a series recapping the trip to Beijing that I
took at the end of my summer in East Asia, followed
by my last day in Korea and plane trip to the States.]
Tuesday8.26.2008:
Having spent the previous day on the hustle and grind,
Paco, Yuelang (悦朗, our designer), and I spent Tuesday
chilling at the crib while the others hit the store to put
in work.
Zhang Yi aka Crazy Yi aka The Chef.
Allen had an iPhone, a mark - particularly in the
stratified Chinese economy - of baller status.
李悦朗 grind hard, sleep tight.
YALE tees are apparently the next big thing in
streetwear... still i doubt i'll be seeing SoHo-lines of slim
selvage jeans-donning kids outside Campus Customs.
Paco cooked dinner that night, so around midafternoon we headed out
to run some errands, including a stop by the local market.
肉。
自行车。
菜。
小女儿。
小孩儿。
After the trip out to purchase provisions, we dropped by another
supermarket, located in the bottom floor of one of the high-rises in
Paco's neighborhood, to order drinks, snacks, and staples (rice), to
be delivered to our door later.
We entered through the back door to see a young girl washing off
cleaning supplies in a small sink. A barely-queen mattress rested in
the corner nearby, evidence of a multiple utility occupancy.
超市场里。
After a mad home-cooked dinner, Paco, Yuelang, and I
kept grinding on the poster for the Season 3 release
party.
The man's a genius... this joint took shape in less than a full evening
of work...
The end result. Bust Out 走起来!
